About GetOmnichannel

What we do - and how we do it

We sign up for trials, work through the actual product, check what support looks like when something breaks, and verify pricing directly - not from a screenshot taken two years ago. That's the entire idea.

Why this site exists

Buying customer-communication software is harder than it should be

Not because the tools are bad. Most of them work fine. It's hard because every review site you land on is either ranking tools that paid to be there, selling your contact details to vendors the second you fill in a form, or written by someone who has clearly never opened the product they're describing.

So we built this instead. GetOmnichannel covers omnichannel platforms, helpdesks, live chat tools, VoIP providers, call center software, and SMS marketing platforms. Independent reviews, head-to-head comparisons, industry buying guides, and alternatives pages - for the buyers who already filtered out the noise.

What we do

The work behind every page

Three things we do that most review sites don't.

Test the actual product

Trial accounts, real screenshots, real setup. We work through core features, check support documentation, and write down what surprised us - good and bad. If a vendor's marketing claims something the product can't deliver, we say so.

Score independently

Six categories: channel coverage, ease of setup, automation, reporting, pricing, and support responsiveness. The score on each page is our assessment - not an average pulled from G2 reviews. We say that clearly on every page.

Verify pricing every quarter

Pricing changes constantly and most review sites don't keep up. We do. Every vendor profile shows when we last tested the tool - if it hasn't been touched in six months, it gets updated before anything new goes live.

How we test

Every tool goes through the same process

Trial account, core features, setup experience, support documentation, pricing tiers cross-checked against what the vendor actually charges today - not a screenshot from 2022. We rate every tool across these six areas:

Channel coverage Ease of setup Automation Reporting Pricing Support responsiveness

Reviews carry a "last tested" date right next to the title. If the page has gone stale, we update the tool's profile before publishing anything new on it. That's a published rule, not an aspiration.

Full disclosure

How we make money and what we won't do for it

Two arrangements pay the bills. Neither one moves a score.

$

How we make money

Some vendors pay for featured placement at the top of category pages. Those positions are labeled "Sponsored". Some vendors run affiliate programs - when readers click through and buy, we earn a commission.

Neither arrangement changes the scores. A tool that pays for placement and doesn't deserve to be there won't stay there. That's less about principle and more about basic logic, if readers stop trusting what they read here, there's no site worth advertising on.

What we won't do

  • Forward your form submissions to vendor sales teams without explicit consent
  • Pretend to be objective while hiding who paid us
  • Leave a stale page sitting at the top of a category because the sponsor is still paying
Who actually reads this

We write for buyers - not for vendors

Four kinds of people land on most of our pages. We write for all of them. That means being honest about who each tool is actually good for - and saying clearly when it's the wrong fit, even if that tool is paying us for placement.
